Creating a Quiet, Calm Spa Studio (Even in a Noisy Building)
When I first started renting my spa suite, I didn’t realize how much hallway noise, chatter, and random building sounds could mess with that cozy, peaceful vibe I wanted for my clients. Over time (and after testing way too many gadgets), I found a simple, affordable setup that transforms a noisy room into a calm oasis. Here’s how you can do the same!
1. Seal the Door
I know, a door seal isn’t exactly Instagram-worthy—but the difference it makes is unreal. It blocks those little gaps where noise sneaks in and instantly makes the room feel quieter and cozier.
2. Layer White Noise
One machine is good, but two is even better! I use multiple white noise machines at different frequencies to create a “bubble of calm.” It’s like wrapping the room in a soft sound blanket that makes outside noise disappear.
This little white noise machine is hands-down my favorite for the spa. The soft glow is so calming, and I love that it has 30 soothing sound options—everything from gentle fan sounds to brown noise. The memory function is a lifesaver too, because it remembers my last settings so I can just plug it in and go. I keep one near my treatment table, and it instantly makes the room feel like a peaceful bubble. Plus, the wood finish looks so warm and inviting!
3. Placement is Key
The real magic happens when you place the white noise machines strategically—one near the door, one closer to the treatment table. This creates a balanced sound that doesn’t feel harsh but gently muffles everything else.
