Bee Well Reads: The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore Was the Cozy Escape I Needed

Let me start by saying: I want to live in this book.

The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore was one of those reads that makes you want to curl up under a blanket with a hot drink and forget the world for a while. It had just the right mix of comfort, charm, and slow-paced healing that my heart needed.

🍯 The Plot (No Spoilers!)
The story follows a woman who inherits her aunt’s bookstore bakery hybrid—yes, a shop that sells cinnamon buns and books. The town is tiny, the people are warm (but not too perfect), and the healing happens slowly. There's a soft romance, some emotional depth, and a quiet reminder that it’s okay to start over.

This is part of the Dream Harbor series, which is a collection of feel-good standalone romances all set in the same charming coastal town. You don’t have to read them in order (I didn’t!), but once you fall in love with the community, you’ll want to stay awhile. Each book highlights a different shop, character, or corner of the town—like wandering from one cozy small business to another.

☕ Cozy-Level Rating: 5/5 Bees
This book gave me everything:

  • A charming bookstore setting ✔️

  • Aromas of coffee, cinnamon, and old books ✔️

  • A lovable cat ✔️

  • Characters that feel like real people you’d meet in your small-town dream life ✔️

It wasn’t dramatic or fast-paced—it was soft, meaningful, and gentle. I finished it feeling full (and hungry for a cinnamon bun).

🌼 Perfect Pairing:
Read this with a blanket, a cup of chai or vanilla rooibos, and something freshly baked nearby. Bonus points if you're in a reading nook.

Final Thoughts
I loved this book for its comfort, but also for how it reminded me that healing can happen in quiet, unexpected places—like between the pages of a book or in the steam of a fresh cup of tea.

Highly recommend if you're in a season of slowing down or simply craving something that feels like a warm hug.
